My favorite thing that I/we have done so far this year would be the letter. The letter would be my favorite because I love how well it turned out and the design and color on it. When we were making it, it was difficult to make sure all the edges were connecting and that it wouldn’t collapse in when firing. We double and tripled checked it and when it came out of the kiln it was perfectly fine except for on the back of it, it had a chunk come off of it. Thankfully it was on the back of the R so it really didn’t matter. We then had to paint wax on the bottom of the letter before we dipped it in majolica glaze. Once that dried we had to draw on the strips. The hardest part was under glazing the vessel. It was very tedious but we got in done. The finish piece looked great and we were happy with it.
